So I'm FINALLY going to be here for a race at COTA. Does anyone have recommendations for tickets? General admission or seating? Turns that are better than others?
Anyone else gonna be there?

Diesel (wetfeet.kinja.com) said he would be there.

I'm going. I got grandstand tickets, because covered seating in 90-100* weather!

My brother bought some spare PSL tix on Craigslist.

Thats not a good way to experience a sports car race.

That's a fair point. Main grandstand?

same price I believe. GA is going to be rad to experience the track throughout day and night!

Someday, I'm going to ask what "wet feet" is about.
Not sure if going. Don't have tickets yet.

That's what I was thinking, more freedom to see more of the race.

a seat would be nice though to rest. Get a $79 seat and just use it when you get tired or want to eat

Could be the opposite of cold feet.
![]() 09/02/2014 at 17:08 |

Yeah, can you just wander the GA areas if you buy a seat?

Wouldn't that be "hot feet"? I imagine that my feet would be cold if they were wet.
Where is Diesel's bitch ass to explain this query?

You can just walk around wherever you want when you are there. I recommend the Turn 15 area. Sit high up on the stands and you can see a ton of the track. Turn 1 is also cool to see them take a really hard left. The main straight is cool to see the cars go flying by. I would suggest walking around the track and sitting in different places.
Last year when I went, they just let you sit anywhere because of the small crowds. This year you can sit anywhere and there is an open paddock, something they did not have. Get there early for the pit lane walk too! Last year I watched some pit stop practice up close and that was really cool.

yup yup. I take folding seats and sit around all over the place.

He's probably doing important NASA things, like figuring how to prevent astronauts from dying while training for space and shit

Sweet!

Awesome. Thanks for the heads up!

I am going to suggest GA tickets. With a race that long you'll want to move around. Plus, you save more money for souvenirs and stuff. And I will of course be there. If you need any austin advice just let me know

I live in Austin, too, so I know my way around pretty well :)
GA and grandstand seats are the same price, and apparently if you buy a seat you can still access all the GA areas, too.

We all know he's just the janitor.

Oh hmm, I always just thought they would be more expensive
![]() 09/02/2014 at 17:56 |

$79 across the board.

Truth.
![]() 09/02/2014 at 19:01 |

yes, main is covered.
![]() 09/02/2014 at 19:02 |

you can still walk around, then retire to comfort and be first for track invasion.
![]() 09/02/2014 at 19:10 |
|
I don't think you can do that at ze Sports cars.
![]() 09/02/2014 at 19:18 |
|
you can do all at COTA.
![]() 09/02/2014 at 19:21 |

Well I'm not driving 2,000 miles to run on a track. I've done that, although it was technically trespassing.
![]() 09/02/2014 at 19:24 |

grid walk and track invasion are limited distances. Can't run very far!

Well we kind of snuck on track at night so....
